On Thursday 4th May,  a party of 33 Friends visited The Cornish Mill and Bakehouse at the kind invitation of David and Sara Boscombe.   We were shown the workings of the equipment at the mill followed by a delicious pasty lunch in their farmhouse kitchen.

On 28th February, the Friends’ fundraising event took the form of the Dean interviewing Donna Birrell who presents, and produces, the Saturday and Sunday Breakfast programmes for BBC Radio Cornwall where she is also Religious Affairs Producer.  The event was preceeded by a light supper.

The Friends enjoyed a party, hosted by Roberta Evans, which consisted of an excellent buffet supper prepared by Marilyn and her staff, followed by readings from David Ivall and Keith Sparrow.  Keith also sang a couple of songs accompanied by Luke Bond on the piano.  An easy quiz teased our minds with the Dean’s team winning a rosette each.

On Wednesday 23 November, a cold and dry day, 26 Friends travelled to Exeter to visit the Cathedral and Christmas market on the Green.  We had coffee and biscuits in the Chapter House on arrival, where we were joined by our Chairman, Chris Barley.  We then split into 2 groups for an hour long guided  tour of the Cathedral.  Following the tour some of our party attended the 1.15 pm Eucharist.  The coach departed for Truro at 4 pm which left time for visits to the City shops and Christmas market.

On Sunday 16th October, about 55 Friends attended our Annual Autumn Meeting.  After lunch we were given a very entertaining and informative talk, which lasted about one hour, by Colonel Edward Bolitho the Lord Lieutenant of Cornwall and our Patron.

After an initial wet start to the evening, the sun shone as everybody boarded the boat.  The boat sailed down the Fal as we all tucked into pasties.  We stopped at St Mawes for a short break, returning to Truro with super views of the setting sun and floodlit Cathedral.
